Xintiandi (新天地) is a shopping, dining, and entertainment district located southwest of The Bund. The district is a place where modern shopping meets with old culture. International merchants like Shake Shack are now sitting in 19th-century buildings that once housed 3,500 families. Xintiandi also has the site of the first Congress of the Communist Party of China.
