Meghan and I headed to Payne’s Prairie at 3:00am today to do some star-gazing. It’s an area where there is hardly any light; we could see what the world would be like without any technology or artificial lighting. The contrast in color around us made it very easy for us to see stars in the sky. From our location, you could see the light pollution in the distance coming from Gainesville.
It was very dark outside, with a small glow of white due to the light pollution. My camera thought otherwise; it caught some red and yellow glows, and by perfect timing, I captured a long exposure of light coming from a passing car.
